Leça Chess Open 2024 - Leça da Palmeira, Portugal

The Chess Department of Grupo Desportivo de Basquete de Leça, with the support of Matosinhos City Council, Matosinhos Sport, the União de Freguesias de Matosinhos e Leça da Palmeira, the Portuguese Chess Federation, the Porto Chess Association, and the Boa Nova High School, is delighted to announce the third edition of the LEÇA CHESS OPEN – PORTUGAL 2024 International Tournament. This event, part of the National Classic Circuit "Portugal Chess Tour" organised by the Portuguese Chess Federation, will be held in the picturesque coastal town of Leça da Palmeira, within the municipality of Matosinhos, from July 31st to August 6th, 2024.

For the second consecutive year, the LEÇA CHESS OPEN will include a BLITZ TOURNAMENT, with 9 rounds, scheduled for the morning of August 4th, at the Pavilion of Boa Nova High School. Both tournaments are FIDE-rated.
